We completed our most recent acquisition, located on Dale Street, and was able to get it into a rent-ready state on a fairly quick turn-around. This time around we did not have the funds for a full renovation, but we were able to do repairs, fully paint the property and put down new flooring. While the house is nice, the house is not our sole focus. Over the last year we’ve seen supernatural acceleration in our property portfolio, and we thank God for his love, grace, and for blessing us abundantly. Blessings do come with responsibilities, the highest perhaps is taking care of our residents, resolving any issue they encounter quickly, praying for them every day, and thanking God for placing them in our lives. We seek to serve our residents, to bless them when we can. We believe that by focusing on our customers, it will provide for us in return.
Our desire is to provide good housing at a reasonable cost to good people. We work so that our residents will be blessed by our property, and in-turn, will be able to bless others. We think this will lift up our community one person, one family, one home at a time. Sometimes I think about numbers, I look at income numbers that run against our costs. This always worries me, but then I think about our amazing residents, and think that we’ve exceeded their standards for what they consider a rental home. More, I hope that we’ve done enough to be a blessing to them.
I know that the families who call our properties home do not have to be ashamed when their friends and family come to visit. These homes are clean and maintained, the floors, cabinets and countertops are nice. These are homes and people we hope to give great care and love to. In many ways, this “business model” does not work, but our business is taking care of people in the most intimate way you can – by providing a home that can be a soft-landing when the world knocks you over and pushes you around all day. Another home, not just a property, now has a new family.
